Amended CSDDD sets a narrower scope and later implementation timetable

The Commission states that the principal company thresholds are at least 5,000 employees and EUR 1.5 billion worldwide net turnover for EU companies, or EUR 1.5 billion EU turnover for non-EU companies. Member States must adopt and publish the amended transposition measures by 26 July 2028 and apply them from 26 July 2029, with Article 16 reporting measures applying for financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2030.

Direct Nactarome scope cannot be concluded without verified consolidated group and ultimate-parent facts. Even where Nactarome is outside direct scope, customers may request human-rights and environmental value-chain evidence, subject to the Directive's protections and information limits for smaller business partners.
